As a non-resident alien (from UK) investor like me and my spouse, We’re keen on both US stock market (Stocks & ETFs passive investment through a US brokerage account) and rental properties (mid-term, long-term rental). I would imagine a holding LLC to set-up as partnership to hold a brokerage account with capital contributions by us, members. Then upon a first rental property is found like in NY or OH state, we plan to purchase a rental property with fund from the holding company (either contribution or loan).
In this scenario, do you suggest a holding LLC and a subsidiary LLC structure? I understand the subsidiary LLC should be incorporated in a state that the rental is located. What about the holding LLC?
