401k rolledover to Traditional and Backdoor contribution

Hi Mark and Matt,

Love the podcast and consuming all your past youtube videos as well, great contect and love the camaradiere. I left a job in 2016 and rolledover 8k from old 401k to Schwab Traditional IRA. In my current employer I have 401k but did not move the rolledover money to current 401k. Over years this has grown to 36K. Now I was naive at that time and also was not listening to, you so from past 6 years, since 2018, I have done backdoor roth also in fidelity but I was not aware that I need to move the rollover 401k whici is traditional IRA to roth or to current employer. I understand that I have been doing wrong backdoor from last 6 years. I have also done backdoor already for 2024. What are my options and how to correct this ? Can I just move the rolledover 401k in schwab to my current 401k and keep quiet or can I still move the rolledover to roth and pay taxes due to moving it from before tax to after tax. Thanks

Fielded your question today on the Open Forum show recorded June 12. Should be posted in a couple of days. Thank you for the question! Mark and Mat
