I own an Antique store that I just started up at the end of 2024. I was told that since I hadn’t officially been open, I couldn’t submit my business start up expenses until now. I have several years of collecting antiques for inventory of my store. Can I submit the mileage on my car for picking up the items over the years? Since I use my van for hauling all the merchandise, can I write of the purchase of my car on Dec 20, 2023?
