Looking to purchase my first business. It rents ATVs and snow machines on a daily basis and they have been around for 5 years with a great steady growth. There is no other competition in this market and the business does no marketing and has grown through word of mouth. The sale would be heavy on the assets (all owned in full) with a current positive cash flow. Owners started it as side hustle and now want to move on to other endeavors.
First question is during the purchase do I buy the name and EIN and run it as is or should I establish similar name visible to public to provide liability protection, and if did that wouldn’t I lose the credit established by the business, banking etc.
Also as this is asset heavy business it seems beneficial to establish a holding company alongside to hold the ATV’s, your thoughts? And should I as an owner be a separate company for the ATV/holding companies to pay me? Annual revenue is currently 75k. Thanks for the input!
